Welcome to Reframe Cycling
We’re dedicated to safer cycling through community-driven initiatives that improve driver awareness and boost cyclists' confidence. Our mapping system highlights high-risk areas identified by cyclists, helping us build safer routes together. Join us in reframing cycle safety for everyone.

I created Reframe Cycling out of a university project and expanded it through the UEA Changemakers program. The reasons for it are that I was frustrated by the lack of access that cyclists and other road users have to take charge of their transportation routes, with much of the data used to inform active transport being of static road traffic accidents and behind paywalls. I wanted to move past having cyclists as merely being passive recipients of poor driving and road design, and for them to have agency in how they cycle. Through this my mapping system was born, as an open access system to highlight areas of danger to cyclists and allow them to make more informed decisions. I also use it to campaign and coalesce around the idea that cyclists are people, and to challenge the psychology around driving and cycling specifically motonormativity.
